Week six of our 90-day legislative session has come to an end and the law-making machinery is off to a slow start. That is good for taxpayers and citizens alike as the House of Delegates continues to hold all committee meetings virtually and rarely convenes in person in the house chamber.
The benefits of the overly strict and heavy-handed rules imposed by the leadership in the House of Delegates is that fewer bills are getting passed and that citizens have better access to watching lawmakers in action and weighing in from their home or office on bills they care about.
If you are frustrated by the liberal laws and policies coming out of Annapolis, you can do your part and tell politicians your views. The special interest groups are very active and I receive hundreds of emails telling me to vote for more government spending, taxes on fossil fuels, nanny state programs, and much more.
We rarely hear from citizens like you who are busy working, raising a family, and want less government in your lives.
Here is a chance for YOU to send YOUR opinions to Annapolis legislators!

This simple bill will require lesson plans and instructional material used at public schools to be posted on the public school’s website. The top factor in student success is parental involvement.
Giving parents, family members, and tutors access to classroom materials will only help our students succeed. This will remove barriers and will allow parents to be involved in their children’s education.
Additionally, this will ensure that whatever is being taught in our public schools matches our values and is appropriate and accurate. Transparency creates trust. Some schools are already doing this, and teachers are accessing materials electronically so it should not be difficult to expand who has access to the materials.
All taxpayer funded educational materials should be available to the public.
I’m sure the school systems and the Teacher’s Union will oppose this bill and others like it.
ONLY YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!

Congress enacted Title IX to expand opportunities for women and girls, especially in the sports arena. For the past fifty years, there has been unprecedented athletic opportunity and achievement for women and girls that include athletic scholarships, Olympic game medals, and the many physical and emotional benefits of participating in sports. This is all made possible by the binary approach that created separate teams for females.
Now in the name of “inclusion” males and transgender girls/women (who were born male) are participating in women’s sports. Female athletes have fought too long and too hard for equal athletic opportunity to let that happen.
The average male is bigger, faster, and stronger than the average female. This male-female athletic differential is almost entirely the result of biology.
In head-to-head competitions, allowing even one or two male-bodied athletes to compete in the women’s division can severely limit the chances of success for women athletes. The “inclusion” of trans girls should not come at the cost of discriminating against a biologically-female-at-birth women.
Your opinion matters.
